My Experience at Johnson Controls

Marquette has provided me with the basic knowledge to succeed in my position of Marketing Analyst Intern at Johnson Controls. The challenging business curriculum has set the floor for my work conduct. It has enabled me to enter the workforce with an understanding that I must deliver superior work in a timely fashion. My introductory classes for both my majors (Marketing and IT) gave me a preface to many of the concepts and terms re-introduced to me in my internship.

One extremely exciting aspect of my internship is my ability to work with Access databases. I have built four thus far (Cross sell, Rebate, Hot Sheet, and Branch Finder), transferring data into an easy to understand format, while creating uncomplicated forms necessary for non technical employees to use the databases.

I originally just picked up a second major because all you hear in the college of business is "It is only one more class." While it only one more class, I have come to realize all the other potential benefits associated with obtaining degrees in both Information Technology and Marketing. Someone possessing either one of these degrees would be an asset to any company.
