IT Graduate News

I started work at Accenture in Chicago this June. I am in the Systems Integration and Technology workforce with a focus in delivery excellence. In SI&T, I work on projects where I help to design the architecture of a system and successfully implement it in our client's business. I went through 5 weeks of training and then began working at Walgreens on my first project. Training was a great experience. I spent the first 3 weeks in the Chicago office. The first week was orientation, and the following two weeks were basic Visual Basic training. Following that, I spent 2 weeks in St. Charles, IL at Core Analyst School. New Analysts from all over the world come to St. Charles for this training. There, I learned about the company, Accenture methodologies, and Accenture approaches to projects during my training. Not only did I learn a lot during training, but it was fun! I got to meet many great people through my start group; they are actually some of my good friends!

All of my IT classes have helped thus far in my career at Accenture. During training, I used my VB skills. Although at times I struggled with coding in my IT classes, it really did pay off to have that knowledge. I have also done a lot of work with process flows and requirements gathering on my first and second projects at Walgreens. In my current project, I am working to implement a new system at Walgreens. I truly feel that the IT program gave me a great platform of knowledge to jumpstart my career at Accenture.

If I was given the chance to have a "do-over", I wouldn't change a thing. I love it at Accenture. I am doing the work that I like to do, the people I work with are very approachable and fun, and the company offers a wide variety of opportunities. The main reasons I chose to work at Accenture was because of all the opportunities the company offers. There are great travel opportunities, which I would like to take advantage of on my next project, as well as projects in any and every aspect of the business world. I can't say enough great things about Accenture!

Jayne graduated from Marquette on 5/07. She majored in IT with International Business and a Spanish minor. She interviewed with Accenture during fall of 2006 and accepted an offer with them in December.
